The Southwest Oral History Association (SOHA) welcomes you to attend our annual conference, April 18-20, 2008 in Tempe, Arizona (just East of Phoenix). The conference will be held at the beautiful Fiesta Resort Conference Center. We will offer a field trip on Thursday, April 17, workshops on Friday, April 18 and sessions all day Saturday, April 19, and Sunday morning, April 20, as well as a reception, reader’s theatre, an awards luncheon and Saturday night dinner with discussion themes. Silent Auction and Raffle
The silent auction and raffle are fundraisers for two conference scholarships and mini-grants for oral history projects. Please bring items or send them ahead to Jennifer Albin. Contact Jennifer at jalbin@asu.edu for more information. Some of the biggest money raisers have been services such as your house as a bed and breakfast for an overnight or a weekend. Are you a good cook? – provide a dinner. You may deduct your expenses. Popular items in past years have been jewelry, clothes, posters, oral history books, art work, stationary, and historical maps. Here is a chance to let someone else enjoy that gift which does not suit you. Generally, highest value items go in the silent auction, smaller items in the raffle. Please download forms for the raffle and silent auction and send or bring them with the items. |
